Date is such a wonderful thing to use as a sweetener. I use date syrup almost daily in my porridge. Date is very nutritious and high in fibre, so certainly one of the most healthy way to sweeten your life. This is a quick and simple recipe to make at home.
Ingredients
- 1 cup date
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 tbsp peeled lemon (with the water.)
How to make this
- Measure 1 cup of date and pour on 1 cup of hot water.
- Let it sit for an hour.
- Add 1 tbsp peeled lemon part, put all ingredients in the blender and blend it together (with the water).
- Add more water to reach your favoured consistency.
I use regular dates for this, no need to buy fancy Medjool dates, but please do if you prefer that.
